Seattle Coffee Gear is hiring for a Product Marketing Manager who will expand and manage our suite of products by splitting their time between analyses and rolling up those sleeves to put aforementioned analysis into action. Sounds fun, right?

If you’re a hardworking, detail-oriented individual with strong communication and time management skills, read onward to learn more about the position. Oh, and before you get lost in the particulars, we should mention that there’s a pretty sweet ‘all you can drink coffee’ perk ‘round these parts. (Get it? Perk…Okay, moving on!)

This is a great fit for you if:

  • You can write and proofread your own work, mixing in pop-culture references and witticisms with product and educational details.
  • You get along well with computers, knowing how to use common applications and are aware of the phrase “Have you tried turning it off and back on?”
  • This isn’t your first rodeo when it comes to product management. You know best practices, have used eCommerce platforms and you already have some ideas on how to improve our products.
  • You enjoy researching products, getting the nitty-gritty on how it works, where it fits in the product line up and all those purchasing details we need to know before placing an order.
  • You’re organized, detail-oriented and time management is kind of ‘your thing.’ You use calendars wisely, blocking out time to get all of your daily and weekly tasks completed, and can follow processes to a T (Bonus points if you just imagined Mr. T).
  • SEO and HTML are not foreign concepts. At the least, they’re workplace acquaintances that you could hold a conversation with. And if you know them like old friends? Well, that’s all the better!
  • Getting your hands into analytics data in order to inform your product decisions is a gleeful experience for you, leaving you feeling enlightened and ready to make an impact.
  • You can pick up a phone and build relationships with vendors, remembering names and what interests each one. Even if you’re shy, you don’t let that stand in the way of negotiating a better margin or sweet exclusive!
  • You know how to communicate within and between teams. You meet or exceed both personal and team goals, are considerate of the workload of those around you and you take time out of your day to help others.

  • Work with marketing, customer service and retail store teams to determine new products to add to, or old products to remove from, our offering.
  • Test, review and compare equipment then translate this data into a properly set up product with a charmingly funny description.
  • Regularly analyze data and customer-facing content to ensure that products meet SEO standards, convey the information necessary for customer conversion and are performing as planned. Make course corrections, as needed (maps are more of a suggestion, right?).
  • Manage competitive pricing and free items with purchase, being aware of MAP restrictions, and communicate these changes out to both the company and external vendors.
